Dorcas Aid International Foundation (DAI) is a non-profit foundation, with its charitable work in Albania striving for lasting change for those living in poverty, excluded or in crisis.
The three-year program “Promoting Entrepreneurship in the Tropoja Region through Crediting” began its implementation in April 2019 in the Tropoja area.
The target group of this program includes the poor, as well as other families in urban and rural areas who may have shown entrepreneurial skills with a focus mainly on youth and women. Partner organizations in this program are DORCAS ALBANIA, Agro& Social Fund and Association “Tropoja Integration”. The objective of this program is to facilitate and set up a system that enables Tropoja area residents more access to microcredit for investment in tourism, agriculture and livestock, trade, services, etc.
This Program came to life after an assessment of the social and economic situation of families in the urban and rural areas of Tropoja Municipality and the identification of the limitations of instruments that alleviate poverty and promote development.
This project aims to change behavior in three directions:
In the individual area, the project aims to increase the capacity of families and support them to access basic economic, social and spiritual services (in the case of poor families) or to materialize their development efforts (in the case of families). who have started a small venture).
In the community sphere, the project aims to increase families’ participation in community activities, community safety nets and advocacy for appropriate public services. It also aims to establish and promote cooperation among families from different sectors (farmers, tourism service providers, etc.) for mutual benefit.
In the social sphere, the project aims to increase the capacity of public institutions, especially the Municipality, to provide social services as their awareness and responsibility to formulate local policies and bylaws in accordance with national policies and laws.
Promoting women’s economic role, gender equality, women’s empowerment and advocacy for appropriate public service will be a priority in all areas of intervention
