Diakonia Agapes is the social development and emergency office of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.Diaconia Agapes, to express God’s sacrificial love for humanity, works with all people in the Republic of Albania and in the region to develop hope, honesty, faith and self-initiative through integrative, developmental, social and educational programs and initiatives.
Agro & Social Fund and Diakonia Agapes
In November 2019, between the Agro& Social Fund and the “Spirit of Love” Foundation – Diakonia Agapes was signed the agreement “On Promoting Entrepreneurship in the Elbasan Region through Lending”, the purpose of which is to facilitate and enhance the system. that enables residents of Gjinar, Shushica and Tregan Administrative Units – Elbasan Municipality to have more access to microcredit for investment in tourism, agriculture, services, etc. The overall purpose of the program is to: Improve the social and economic situation of local communities in the administrative units of Shushica, Gjinar and Tregan, Elbasan Municipality.
Expected results:
- Cooperation between farmers and tourism service providers to increase their income by increasing market access based on customer demand.
- Farmers and tourism service providers build and maintain relationships of mutual interest in the context of a functioning local market.
- Institutions provide appropriate public services to local stakeholders.
- Women are empowered economically and socially.
